February marks the end of the high season of Christmas in Thailand: there are fewer people but the weather in Thailand throughout February remains excellent! In the northern part of the country, from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, there is a slight increase in the risk of rain, while in the South the risk of rain extends even further.

Bangkok and Central Thailand in February

Bangkok and Central Thailand have a slight rise in temperatures, accompanied by a slight rise in the risk of rain. That said, it is only one or two days of rain within the month.

East of Thailand (Isan) in February

In eastern Thailand, temperatures in February will be slightly lower than in Bangkok and central Thailand, but there will be more rain (there is a risk of rain every four to five days). February is a particularly pleasant time to visit the Thai islands of the East such as Koh Chang and Koh Kut as well as to stay in the sulphurous Pattaya.

Northern Thailand in February

February sees northern Thailand begin to transition from the cool to the hot season. The evenings will remain relatively cool, but the days are seriously beginning to warm up. Those wishing to go trekking should always plan to wear warm clothes and bring blankets. The risk of rain remains very low. It is therefore a good time to go to the north of Thailand.

Northeast Thailand in February

The climate in the northeast of the country throughout February is similar to central Thailand, albeit a bit cooler in the evening. Temperatures in the day begin to rise. Expect a few days of rain per month (in the form of heavy showers in general, at the end of the day), but not more. It is probably the last month during which the heat is not overwhelming.

Southeast Thailand in February

On the Gulf Islands and the south-east coast, average temperatures of 27° C are expected. The rains are less frequent than in January, making the activity of lazing on the beach more pleasant (and safer!)! Thus, the islands of Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao are excellent destinations in February.

South-West of Thailand in February

As in January, February is one of the best months of the year to visit the Andaman coast of Thailand. In February, from Phuket to Trang, one should expect excellent weather, lots of sunshine and maybe only one or two days of rain. The average temperature is 28° C.
